Our delicious mueslis, crunchies, Bircher mueslis, and porridges are made in the idyllic community of Langkampfen, Tyrol. Inspired by the beauty of the surrounding mountains and nature, we want to share a piece of this with the whole world through our products. Would you like to get to know where we come from? Then you've come to the right place, because our colleague Sarah will reveal the most beautiful hiking trails in Langkampfen and the surrounding area!
Hiking trail 1: Pendling
The first hiking trail takes you to Kufstein's local mountain, the Pendling. Sarah is convinced that everyone who lives in the Kufstein area should have been on this mountain at least once in their life! The Pendling is a popular destination because there are two different hiking trails, both of which are suitable for beginners and families.
The first route starts in Thiersee at the Schneeberg, and the ascent to the summit takes only 1 1/2 hours from here. For those who prefer a more leisurely pace, there is also a second option: the forest trail that leads over the Kalaalm. However, if you are looking for a little challenge, you should venture through the forest and up the steeper path. (Please note that there may still be a lot of snow here even in May, making the hike a bit of an adventure.)
Whichever route you choose, the climb is definitely worth it, as the view from the summit is breathtakingly beautiful. Once you get there, you can sit for a few hours and enjoy the view over Kufstein and the surrounding area. There is also a traditional mountain hut, the Pendlinghaus, where you can fortify yourself with delicious dishes.
Hiking trail 2: Kaiseraufstieg
Another very popular destination, not only for locals but also for tourists, is the Kaiseraufstieg in Kufstein! Here you find yourself in the middle of nature – it was rightly voted “Austria's most beautiful place” by an ORF show in 2016. What makes the Kaiseraufstieg special is that you don't just have one hiking trail to choose from, but a variety of different routes. This makes it perfect for a leisurely day of hiking with family or friends.
Of course, there are also some noteworthy stops along the way, such as the famous Tischofer Cave, the Antonius Chapel, and several inns where you can enjoy a delicious meal.
Hiking trail 3: Hechtsee circular walk
For her last tip, Sarah has chosen the Hechtsee circular walk. The Hechtsee lake lies right on the border between Kufstein and Kiefersfelden in Germany. If you walk at a brisk pace, you can walk around the lake in half an hour. If that's not enough for you, there is also the option of the 3-lake hike (Hechtsee, Egelsee, Längsee/Pfrillsee), which takes about 2 1/2 hours.
The hike is an absolute must for water lovers, because here, the journey is the destination! In summer, you can take a break on the narrow path next to the lake and cool off with a dip in the water. You can either walk right next to the lake or choose the path through the beautiful forest.
